Having been open since September 2014, Surge Studio prides itself in reputation, quality performance, and dancers. We have been contacted by people from LA, Texas, Kentucky, and even from Kenya to send our dance faculty members to work with others. Being a part of our newly founded Surge Studio Dance Company allows dancers aged 18 & up to gain professional experience and receive quality training. We primarily focus on Hip-Hop and Street Jazz, but encourage well-rounded dancers who have a background in formal training such as Jazz, Contemporary, Salsa, and other styles to attend our audition.
Consistent Dance Training
Surge Studio Dance Company members pay a monthly fee of $100 to attend 1.5-hour long rehearsals once a week at night. This allows dancers to improve their skills of picking up choreography, and learning material for future performances, events, and competitions.
We also have the opportunity to film dance videos that are frequently viewed and shared via social media. We sometimes do tutorial videos so others can learn our choreography. This is also a great way to learn teaching skills.
Headshots, Resumes & Dance Reels
Learn the “ins” and “outs” of taking headshots and dance pictures. Dance company members will develop and learn how to brand themselves. We also assist with perfecting your dance resume, give tips about social media in the industry, and how to handle auditions.
We look to enter dance competitions as well as community based performance opportunities. Surge Studio Dance Company will also perform at corporate events, parties, and more. Company members will be paid for performances.
Company Member Requirements
Dancers in the company will need to abide to the following:
- Attend rehearsals: Mondays 9:30-11pm
- Allowed only 1 absence/month
- Attend at least 1 Surge Studio event/month
- Make monthly payment the 1st of every/month
- Commit to being in the company for a minimum of 3 months
Audition for Surge Studio Dance Company
We take our dance training very seriously and expect complete professionalism from our dancers. Our audition process consists of learning a Hip-Hop/Street Jazz dance combination that will be performed in small groups. There is also a one-on-one interview process to complete the audition process.
Thank you to those who came out to audition on APRIL 29th. There are no further auditions scheduled at this time.
