Meet Angelique Cruz
Angelique Cherise Cruz, originally a native of New York, started her rigorous dance training as a soloist and company member in various genres of dance including ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip-hop, musical theater and more. During this time, she competed regionally and nationally at various dance competitions throughout the United States. Angelique had the honor being awarded numerous scholarships, titles, and high point awards. She decided to continue her studies to receive a B.F.A. in Dance Studies at Long Island University. This allowed her to gain the opportunity to work with artists such as Khaleah London, Michael Leon Thomas, Desmond Richardson, Patricia Kenny Reilly, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, MOMIX, Pilobolus and more. She has performed in venues such as Madison Square Garden, Symphony Space, WHITE WAVE John Ryan Theater, and the Flea Theater. Angelique's choreography credits have allowed her to work with numerous groups and organizations including LIU Post, Performers Edge Academy, Local Celebrity Theater, Preston High School, and Villa Maria Academy. Her choreography ranges from concert dance, competition dance, and musical theater productions. She was bestowed the honor of presenting her work entitled Pandora's Box at the American College Dance Festival in March 2013. Angelique is described as one of New York's most innovative, captivating, and promising young dancers and choreographers to look for in the future.
